Overview

First Ever Fashion Metaverse Experience

The project addressed the lack of engaging, interactive, and scalable solutions in the digital fashion space. Existing platforms were limited by poor interactivity and customization options, leading to high customer acquisition costs (CAC) and low user retention.

In this project, I led the creation of an innovative fashion metaverse that blended luxury fashion with interactive, cross-platform digital experiences. As the lead designer, I focused on crafting intuitive UX/UI systems that elevated user engagement through interactive 3D spaces. This project emphasized user-centered design, incorporating feedback and testing to optimize the customer journey and enhance brand storytelling. I also collaborated closely with developers, content creators, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of immersive experiences with real-world fashion elements.

Problem Definition:

The primary challenge was a lack of engaging and scalable digital solutions in the luxury fashion space. Existing platforms offered limited interactivity and customization, which led to high customer acquisition costs (CAC) and low retention. This project aimed to fill the gap by creating a metaverse experience that encouraged longer user engagement through immersive and interactive elements tailored to Millennials and Gen Z, who are expected to drive 95% of luxury spending in the coming years.

User Research & Insights:

Conducted in-depth user research, including surveys and interviews, targeting Millennials and Gen Z to understand their expectations for digital fashion experiences.

Key findings revealed that these users spend an average of 8.5 hours per day on digital platforms and are drawn to interactive, customizable experiences. They expressed high interest in fashion-related content within the metaverse, with Gen Z ranking fashion as their top category for spending in virtual spaces.

These insights informed the design of features like virtual try-ons, interactive runways, and customizable avatars to enable self-expression and social engagement.

Creative Process

Creative Leadership & Vision Alignment:

  • Spearheaded the creative vision for Spaceverse, aligning all design elements and user experience strategies with project goals and brand identity.

  • Established and communicated a clear UX vision, guiding the team to deliver engaging, user-centered experiences within the metaverse.

Team Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Led a multidisciplinary team, including UX designers, 3D artists, and content creators, ensuring each member contributed to a cohesive and high-quality user experience.

  • Collaborated closely with developers, product managers, and marketing teams to integrate UX principles across all touchpoints, maintaining consistency and alignment in both creative and technical outputs.

Concept Development & UX/UI Design:

  • Drove the development of unique concepts that merged fashion, digital art, and interactivity within a virtual environment, focusing on intuitive and immersive user experiences.

  • Developed and refined user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes to optimize interactions, making the metaverse accessible and engaging for users.

User Research & Data-Driven Optimization:

  • Conducted user research and usability testing to gather insights, iterating on designs based on data to enhance the overall user experience.

  • Implemented feedback loops with user insights to continuously refine UX/UI elements, ensuring they met user expectations and improved engagement metrics.

Marketing Strategy & Rollout:

  • Collaborated with the marketing team to develop a launch strategy that effectively communicated the Spaceverse experience to target audiences.

  • Oversaw the design of marketing assets and digital campaigns, ensuring that brand messaging and user engagement strategies were aligned with the UX design approach.

End-to-End Development & Cross-Team Alignment:

  • Led the full creative development cycle, bridging UX design and technical requirements to ensure seamless integration and functionality across platforms.

Space Runners Brand Film: Redefining Fashion in the Virtual Realm

This brand video showcases the visionary world of Space Runners, a virtual reality fashion brand that empowers users to create, trade, and showcase designer virtual items. Through a unique blend of high-fashion aesthetics and digital immersion, the video transports viewers into a stylized virtual experience, where users engage in interactive environments, auctions, and iconic fashion-driven gameplay. Inspired by cultural icons like Daft Punk and NBA sports, Space Runners embodies a new wave of self-expression in the digital fashion landscape.

Exploring the Spaceverse: An Immersive Fashion Metaverse

As the UX Design Lead and Creative Director, I focused on creating engaging spaces that blend luxury aesthetics with user-friendly navigation. From futuristic desert landscapes to sleek virtual storefronts, Spaceverse allows users to explore, customize, and shop for virtual fashion items in a unique, immersive setting. The experience empowers users to interact with digital fashion, embodying the Space Runners brand ethos of creativity, self-expression, and innovation in the metaverse.

Outcome

The Fashion Metaverse launch was a resounding success, capturing the attention of diverse user segments, from Gen Z fashion enthusiasts to Web 3 adopters. User engagement metrics reflected a marked increase in time spent exploring virtual collections, customizing avatars, and engaging in interactive spaces. The platform’s innovative design met the needs of a multi-segment audience, demonstrating its effectiveness and appeal.

Impact

The successful launch of the Spaceverse received extensive media coverage and positive user feedback, establishing Space Runners as a trailblazer in the fashion metaverse. This pioneering initiative not only enhanced the brand’s industry reputation but also contributed to securing $10M in funding from notable investors, including Polychain, Pantera, Jump Crypto, and Accel, to further expand the Spaceverse on blockchain. The project’s innovation and successful reception have set a new standard, garnering recognition within both the fashion and tech industries.
